Overview
Kizuki, also known as the Twelve Kizuki or Twelve Demon Moons, are the elite group of demons serving directly under Muzan Kibutsuji, the primary antagonist in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
They are the most powerful demons, divided into two ranks: the six Upper Ranks and the six Lower Ranks. Each Kizuki is marked with an engraved number in their eyes, signifying their rank and strength.
The Upper Ranks are exceptionally formidable, having maintained their positions for centuries due to their overwhelming power, while the Lower Ranks are less durable, often replaced when defeated. Enhanced by Muzan’s blood, they possess unique Blood Demon Arts, making them deadly adversaries for the Demon Slayer Corps.
Upper Rank Kizuki :

Kokushibo – Upper Rank 1
Kokushibo is a tall pale demon who looks both scary and mysterious. He has long black hair tied in a ponytail and six eerie eyes, with two of them showing he’s Upper Rank 1. His old purple kimono and sword give him the vibe of a ghostly samurai from a forgotten time.
Long ago, he was Michikatsu, the brother of the legendary swordsman Yoriichi. Though he acts cold and proud, deep down he feels regret for choosing to become a demon. His Moon Breathing technique sends out crescent-shaped attacks that slice through anything, and his Blood Demon Art lets him turn his body into sharp blades.
In the Infinity Castle Arc, he faces off against powerful Hashira like Gyomei and Muichiro in intense battles. His tragic past and inner conflict make him a villain you can’t forget.

Doma – Upper Rank 2
Doma seems charming at first with his rainbow-colored eyes and blonde hair, but he’s anything but friendly. He carries two golden fans and wears a red shirt that hides his cruel nature.
He was raised in a strange cult, Doma puts on a fake cheerful act, but he loves causing pain and thinks it “helps” people. His Blood Demon Art creates deadly ice, like freezing clouds that choke enemies or sharp vines that cut them up, all swung with his fans.
In the Infinity Castle Arc, he fights Shinobu, Kanao, and Inosuke, mocking them with his cold words. Shinobu uses a special poison to avenge her sister Kanae, making Doma a hated but very dangerous enemy. His mix of charm and cruelty makes him stand out.

Akaza – Upper Rank 3
Akaza is a tough demon with pink hair and blue tattoo-like lines across his body. His yellow eyes mark him as Upper Rank 3, and his short shirt shows he’s always ready to fight.
As a human named Hakuji, he loved a girl named Koyuki, but her death broke his heart, and that pain still follows him. Even as a demon, he respects strong fighters and fights with honor. His Blood Demon Art makes his punches and kicks hit with shockwaves, and his Compass Needle move helps him track enemies.
In the Mugen Train Arc, he battles the fiery Kyojuro Rengoku, and later he faces Tanjiro and Giyu in the Infinity Castle Arc. Fans love Akaza for his sad story and sense of fairness, even if he’s a villain.

Hantengu – Upper Rank 4
Hantengu looks like a weak old man with gray skin and scared eyes, but he’s far from harmless. As a human, he was a liar who always acted like a victim, and he still plays that role as a demon.
His Blood Demon Art lets him split into younger versions of himself, each one showing a different emotion, like Sekido’s anger or Urogi’s joy. These clones have powers like lightning bolts or loud screams that hurt enemies.
In the Swordsmith Village Arc, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Genya, and Mitsuri fight him, but his tiny real body is hard to find, making the battle tricky. Hantengu’s cowardly act and sneaky tactics make him a frustrating opponent who keeps you on edge.

Nakime – Upper Rank 4 (Replacement)
Nakime is a quiet demon who doesn’t say much. She has pale skin and black hair covering one eye, with a biwa instrument always in her hands. She’s super loyal to Muzan, and no one knows much about her past.
Her Blood Demon Art is unique—she controls the Infinity Castle by playing her biwa, moving rooms and doors to trap Demon Slayers inside. In the Infinity Castle Arc, her music makes it nearly impossible for the heroes to find their way, turning the castle into a maze.
Nakime’s calm and spooky presence, combined with her clever power, makes her a big threat, even though she doesn’t fight directly.

Gyokko – Upper Rank 5
Gyokko is one of the weirdest demons, popping out of pots with a scaly body and eyes on his forehead and mouth. He thinks his creepy creations, like dead bodies, are “art” and gets angry when people don’t agree.
His Blood Demon Art makes pots that attack with water, like poisonous fish or bubbles that trap enemies. He can also transform into a stronger fish-man form that’s even scarier. In the Swordsmith Village Arc, he fights Muichiro, acting all fancy but losing to the Hashira’s skills. Gyokko’s strange look and big ego make him a villain you can’t ignore, even if he’s a bit gross.

Gyutaro and Daki – Upper Rank 6
Gyutaro and Daki are a brother-and-sister duo who share the Upper Rank 6 spot. Daki is beautiful with white hair and a fancy kimono, but she’s spoiled and mean. Gyutaro hides inside her body and looks thin and scarred, but he loves his sister deeply. They grew up poor and suffered a lot, which led them to become demons.
Daki’s Blood Demon Art creates sashes that slice like blades, while Gyutaro’s blood sickles are poisonous and deadly. In the Entertainment District Arc, they fight Tengen, Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu in a tough battle. Their teamwork is strong, but their sad ending makes you feel sorry for them, even after all the chaos they caused.

Kaigaku – Upper Rank 6 (Replacement)
Kaigaku is a demon who used to be a Demon Slayer, making him a traitor. He has black hair with turquoise streaks and wears a twisted version of his old Slayer uniform. Selfish and weak-willed, he betrayed his teacher Jigoro and his friend Zenitsu to gain demon power.
His Blood Demon Art mixes Thunder Breathing with electric sword attacks that burn anything they touch. In the Infinity Castle Arc, he faces Zenitsu, who defeats him with a new move. Kaigaku’s betrayal makes him easy to dislike, but his past as a Slayer shows he could have been something better, adding a layer to his story.
Lower Rank Kizuki :

Enmu – Lower Rank 1
Enmu is a sneaky demon with pale skin and a creepy smile that hides his evil plans. He loves making people suffer and is obsessed with pleasing Muzan. His Blood Demon Art puts people to sleep and traps them in happy dreams, where he kills them by breaking their spirit.
In the Mugen Train Arc, he takes over a train to attack Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Nezuko, and Kyojuro. His tricky dream plan almost works, but the heroes fight back and stop him. Enmu’s sly nature makes him a memorable Lower Rank demon.

Rokuro – Lower Rank 2
Rokuro is an older demon with gray skin who looks tired but acts bold. He wants to be stronger but is too scared to challenge Muzan directly. We don’t know his Blood Demon Art, but he thinks he’s tougher than he is. In the Lower Ranks Meeting Arc, Rokuro makes the mistake of asking Muzan for more power. Muzan doesn’t like his attitude and kills him on the spot. Rokuro’s quick death shows how little Muzan cares about the Lower Ranks, making his story short but brutal.

Wakuraba – Lower Rank 3
Wakuraba is a jumpy demon with short hair and a panicked look. He’s desperate to stay alive but too weak to impress Muzan. His Blood Demon Art might involve moving fast, since he tries to run away when Muzan gets angry. In the Lower Ranks Meeting Arc, Wakuraba bolts to escape, but Muzan catches and kills him instantly. His brief appearance shows how scary it is to be a Lower Rank, with no chance to prove yourself.

Mukago – Lower Rank 4
Mukago is a nervous female demon with white hair and a plain kimono. She’s always scared and just wants to avoid Muzan’s wrath. We don’t see her Blood Demon Art, but it might involve hiding or sneaking. In the Lower Ranks Meeting Arc, Muzan calls her weak and kills her without hesitation. Mukago’s quick end shows how the Lower Ranks are seen as disposable, with no value to their cruel master.

Rui – Lower Rank 5
Rui looks like a pale kid with white spidery hair and a soft voice, but he’s cruel and lonely. As a sickly boy, he became a demon to survive, but he desperately wants a “family” he can control. His Blood Demon Art creates sharp spider webs that can cut through anything, like a deadly trap. In the Natagumo Mountain Arc, Tanjiro and Nezuko fight him in a tough battle. Rui’s sad past and need for love make his defeat heartbreaking, even though he’s a villain.

Kamanue – Lower Rank 6
Kamanue is a quiet demon with pale skin and short dark hair. He’s terrified of Muzan and tries to stay out of trouble, but he’s too weak to stand out. His Blood Demon Art isn’t shown, but it’s probably something simple like speed or strength. In the Lower Ranks Meeting Arc, Muzan summons him with the other Lower Ranks and kills him for being scared and useless. Kamanue barely gets to speak, and his quick death shows how harsh Muzan is to the Lower Ranks.
